This image of a wing came to me early one morning as my mind was filled with dread regarding the current wars and ultimately human destruction both physical and political in our world. The image began with writing that was scratched into a layer of paint with consecutive layers of mark making and fields of bright color until the wing emerged.

I was seeking to bridge the space between humanity and the natural world. I hoped to rebuild a sense of loving kindness that seems so readily stripped with humanities hateful action. Ultimately, to find a balance and encourage reflections of hope in myself and others.
